Infinity Loops
06.06.2026
description
A short fragment of a recording, repeated over and over, shifted slightly. From this simple principle of the loop, Steve Reich developed minimal music in the 1960s and 70s. A few years later, hip-hop in the Bronx discovered the same magic and changed popular music forever. On this evening, both worlds meet. Violinist Dmitry Smirnov performs Reich's «Violin Phase»by cloning himself sonically. He is joined by Sebb Bash, internationally renowned DJ and producer from Lausanne and winner of the 2019 Swiss MusicPrize. This concert is part of the series «Resonanzraum»and is created in collaboration with «Musiksommer am Zürichsee».
